The movement was rinsed in freshwater, dried and left to soak in light oil.  A combination of buffing, wet and dry polishing and elbow grease brought back most of the non-moving parts.

Pivot reduction/replacement and bushing work was performed as necessary.   The leaves of the pinions were polished as best as was possible with the wheels still on the arbor.    Removing the wheels would have been a better way to polish but too expensive.    Most repairs eventualy need to balance what is possible against what is practical and at what cost?
